I wonder how effective this approach might be with a different set of public officials... cops.
"Contempt of cop" is something that just has no place in a free society. Just to name a case, I think Sandra Bland absolutely had a "right to be rude" that was violated.
If police reform activists want to make a REAL difference, I'd love to see them try provoking some good court cases in Massachusetts to try and extend the "right to be rude" to the police context.
